Gardener for Hire

I helped Dad mow the lawn this weekend.  I did a pretty good job, but I was pretty exhausted afterwards.  It's harder than it looks!

Finally! I finished!

How long did this take me?  A long time.  I took a break.  But when I got determined again, I finished it easy peasy.  Do you like it??

Celebrity Dance Competition

Our 2nd to last dance competition was Celebrity. This competition is the same one that has a cruise in the summer.  But we don't go to that one.  Anyhow, we did pretty darn well at this comp.  It was held in San Ramon, and it was ALL day long.  We have a dance at 11~, 1~ and then 6~.  So we had to stay there all day. AND, awards for the last one was at 10.  That's right, 10 at night.  It was super late by the time we got home.

Tulia's dad brought his RV (which I want) and we camped out.  We ate burgers and hot dogs (unfortunately, we had them for lunch AND dinner)  plus various snacks.  It was fun.

Here's the set up.

Inside, we're all over the place.

Before the comp, I'm all jazzed up!

Cousins Jenna, Enzo and Lindsay came to watch me.  Thanks for the support!

In between routines, just hanging out playing other people's iPads!

Uh, winners!!!

I'm in the lower left there.  This is the "auditions".  At 9pm, they had a class, broken down by age.  And we had to learn the combination in about 10 minutes, and then perform it in groups of 10 or so on the stage, in front of the judges. Then they pick.  We're all wearing numbers.

I was selected in the first round.  But didn't make it past.  I was the only boy too.

Here we are taking 1st place overall, plus our Platinum for Kickin' it Old School.

Maui - Day 7

It's the last day in Maui.  Our sunburns are now tans, so off we go to the beach again.  This time, it's Kapalua Bay, right next to Merriman's where Uncle Steve and Auntie Jen got married.

Mom's tent set up is looking better, no?   And this time, we bought Spam Musubi from the Honuloa Store, a few minutes walk from our Hotel.  We had the Musubi for lunch.  It was good and cheap and I could have eaten a few more of them.

Some examples of the "brain" that Brendan saw.  It's really coral.

That's Brendan.  You can tell cuz he's wearing a life jacket.

Pointing at something good....

The snorkeling was pretty good here.  There were lots of fish and many different kinds.  Though, quite hard to see with our camera.

Some pictures of the Ritz Carlton lobby area.

The Ritz is part of the Kapalua Resorts.

A banana tree, right outside the lobby!

Lookie!  Baby pineapples!
This was outside of Sansei's where we ate our last (and first) dinners.

Funny how it grows, no?

Again, it was really really good and since we lined up early (to avoid having to wait) we got in on the "early bird special" - 25% off if we order before 6pm. So of course, we did!  And it was really good.

Panko Crusted Ahi Tuna.  It was so good.

Brendan's Keiki Steak.  It was pretty good too.

The Honolua Store was between the Ritz and Sansei's.  It was sort of a convenience store/deli/ABC store.  It's a good place to get a quick and cheap meal.

Relaxing in the hammock after dinner.

We made these in our "volcano" class at the Cousteau center.

Brendan lost one of his baby teeth on the last night in Maui.  He was proud that he pulled it out all by himself.  The tooth fairy left him an extra special gift for for losing his tooth in Hawaii.

Maui - Day 5

Since it was wedding day, we decided to take it easy.  We went to Lulu's for breakfast, in the Lahaina Cannery Mall.  It was so-so.  I really liked the steak and eggs I had for breakfast.  Even Brendan had steak and eggs.  It was big, but I ate it all.  That's a good breakfast.

After breakfast, we decided to stop in on Richard and Carol, that couple we met at Star Noodle.  Richard gave us a discount on the rental for the Scoot Coupes and so we went for a drive.  Its basically a scooter with three wheels and 2 seats side by side.  I was the passenger in Dad's coupe and Brendan rode with Mom.  We drove along the Lower Honoapiilani Road from Kaanapali to Kapalua.  We stopped at a couple beaches along the way to check things out and even stopped at the Honolua store near our hotel for a quick drink.  We drove to Merriman's...where the wedding would shortly be and then back down to return the car.  Well, not before filling up the coupes with a little gas.

Dad let me steer a little bit (and do that gas because that's also on the steering handle.  He was busy trying to take pictures of Mom and Brendan.  Though, you really couldn't see him in the car since he's so little)  It started to sprinkle even on our way home, but we didn't get that wet and before we knew it, it was all over.  Phew!

All dressed and ready for my big business meeting.  I mean, for the wedding.

Out front, waiting for the shuttle.

I'm late I'm late...just kidding.

We'll go to that beach tomorrow. (Kapalua Bay)

Oh it's super hot.  We're baking...but happy with our iPod.

It's getting hotter.  We had to take off our jackets.  And roll up the sleeves.

It's begun!  (picture from Auntie Kasie)

Yay!  Congrats to Uncle Steve and Auntie Jen!  I was mesmerized by your vows.  Mesmerized.  What is match.com?  What do you do there?

Ceremony over, time to go wild!

Making sure that Elle doesn't slide down this hill.

And then more craziness

Happy and sweaty kid

Nice dancing, Uncle Steve.

The menu for tonight.  I did not eat off the Keiki Menu...I got the grownup steak. YES!

I'm on a conference call, do not disturb.

Okay, no, we're watching a movie.  I shared my headphones with Elle.

They're taking wedding pictures, I'm picking flowers for Elle.

Oops.  Did I do something funny?

Uncle Steve wants to battle....but nah, I don't want to ruin his wedding day.  Just kidding.
