Reading

I love to read.  Like crazy reading.  I recently finished the Warriors series...the entire series....that's over 30 books.  I also finished Harry Potter...it was amazing and I will definitely read it again.

Finished!

Harry Potter is finished.  Last week.  Now I am on to Warriors.  It's good.

Harry Potter - almost done!

I've been reading the Harry Potter books as quickly as I can.  I think I started Labor Day weekend, and now it's towards the end of October.  About 1.5 months and I'm finally done with Book 6.  One more book to go!  These books are so good!  I can't stop reading...I read in the car on the way to and from dance, I read anytime I can.  Those bricks have been attached to my hip for weeks.  I love them.  But what am I going to read after?

No Ipod

Mom took the iPod away again.  We were fighting a lot.  We both felt like we weren't getting enough playtime on it.  So we argued all the time and Mom decided we were better off without it.  Look at what happened on this Friday afternoon without an iPod....

Reading and Writing

So Mom posted about Brendan's reading level, and I just wanted to share mine too.  My range is 3.9-5.9...which means I'm reading somewhere between the end of 3rd grade to the end of 5th grade.  That's pretty good, right?

Also, just like Brendan, I have a pen pal...and can you guess who it is?  It's Tristan!!!!

And this is the letter I wrote to Tristan in January.  

Ugh. Sick.

So I've been sick.  With fever.  And sore throat.  But it's not strep.  We confirmed that.  Mom is nervous because I have my party coming up on Saturday....and there's a whole weekend of fun planned.  But, looks like I'm on the mend.  Monday was not so good, but today I'm much better.  Hope I can go to school tomorrow.  This week is a short week, I have Friday off too (in addition to Monday, Memorial Day).  So it's a long long weekend.  

I've been doing great at my guitar.  I'm much more motivated to practice.  Mom says Yay!

The latest book I'm reading is Guardians of Ga'Hoole.  It's really interesting and right at my level.  I'm enjoying it very much and have the next two books in the series already.

Mom got me a summer workbook...and I love it.  My brother and I are going to race to see who finishes their book first.  

My dance audition results are back.  I'm still in Jazz 1, but I made it to Tap 2.  And I also made the hip hop team.  And we have to take 2 hours of ballet next season.  So in total, that will be 6.5  hours of dance per week.  I am so ready and excited for it.  It's awesome.

AR reading level

We came back from vacation and I had to take an AR evaluation.  AR stands for Accelerated Reader.

It's a multiple choice test.  Guess what I scored?  I scored at a level 6.3!  The first number stands for the grade level and the second number is the months of school.  So 6.3 would mean I'm in my 3rd month of 6th grade.   No way!  Teacher says I also have good test taking skills, so that helps my score too.

I think when we had the parent teacher conferences, I was reading at a level 3.something....

My teacher put on my book card that I can read up to level 4....even though I have a great vocabulary, I have trouble remembering the story....

Currently, I am reading several books at a time...which Mom thinks isn't helping my memory.  I finished Eragon and am on to the second book.  I also started reading the Lightning Thief, which I also got for Xmas.
