Last day of school and Dmitri's party

So today was the last day of Kindergarten...going to 1st grade soon! Yippeeeeee! Yesterday, we had a little performance at school. We sang a bunch of songs. Mommy loved the one called 1st grade....it was to the music of New York, New York. Super cute.

And we went to my friend Dmitri's 6th birthday party after school. It was a busy day. But we had fun at the party! Happy Birthday Dmitri!

Dance costume preview

Okay peeps check this out...

Mommy made the patch on my red Levi's cap and sewed the sequins down the sides of last years sailor pants...coolio

Mommy took a man's zebra tie and made it into a boy-size elastic neck tie and made pink suspenders! So cool! Plus, she used the extra zebra fabric from the tie to wrap a band around the hat!

I turned 6 today

Had a really really fun party with ALL of my friends...and I'm talking like 30-something kiddos. Awesome. Totally. The theme was boats...so Mom put a little ferry on my fisherman cake. Dad made these awesome balloon-powered boats for my friends to take home...and play with in the kiddie pool....though lots of people left them...oops. We also had a jumpy house on the front lawn and that was totally fun. My brother and I are not afraid of it anymore. Loved it, but so exhausted from all the jumping. We had pizza and burritos for lunch, with yummy chocolate cake for dessert. It was a hopping party! I loved it. I got lots and lots of legos, and Mom was very surprised I didn't get duplicates...guess there are so very many kinds...yay for me! Lego sets are my favorite, so I'm a lucky boy. :) Though Mom wasn't very happy when she found me and a few friends opening presents....so the first 5 or so gifts...not really sure who gave what...oops, hey, how would I know? Mom's working it out...:)

Oh, another thing not related to my birthday...but we had this lesson at school about art, and we learned about Starry Night, American Gothic, the Mona Lisa and the artists, too. We learned about Picasso and Monet, as well as O'Keefe. I really really loved this lesson. We even drew a copy of the piece (Mom will post pics later when we get them back from school) I wanted to learn about the artist, where they lived, where their paintings were now. Now I really want to go to Europe and see these works of art. Can't wait.

Travel Channel, anyone?

It's my favorite channel these days. That Samantha Brown is always going to the most "major cool" places! My next destinations? Sydney, Paris, Tokyo, New York, Iceland....Yeah, those! And I love airplanes now too. I want to know where United flies, where Continental flies, where Southwest goes and Lufthansa too. I really want to ride the Airbus A380 because there is an upstairs and a downstairs! Major cool! I study my "inflatable" globe everyday and tell Mom and Dad where I want to go next.

Oh, and Mom introduced me to the Amazing Race and I totally love that show. Too bad it's already over and I only got to watch 2 episodes.

Jiffy Pop?

Mom got us some jiffy pop to try. My brother (he loves popcorn) and I thought it was going to explode and we stood by the door covering our ears....but it didn't explode...aww...darn.
