LA Dance Magic Competition and Convention

This year, instead of Nuvo, we went to LA Dance Magic.  It's pretty similar, but the teachers are all different.  We competed tap and jazz on Friday night.  On Saturday, we had class from 8-2, with a short break for lunch.  At around 5, we competed our hip hop routine.  And on Sunday, we were back dancing from 7:30 until 2pm.  It was a super long weekend, but I had lots of fun.

Our tap routine is called "Apple Tree" and we took home a 1st Place High Gold.
Our jazz routine is called "Beautiful People" and we didn't win....
Our hip hop routine is called "Kickin' it Old School" and we also got 1st Place High Gold!!!!
We may get videos of the routine, so keep checking back!

Here I am wearing my tap costume under my team jacket...
Yes, those are extra rosy cheeks!!

Messing up B's picture....ha ha!

I had super high energy this time....it was pretty good!

Emily bought this pic and I'm in it!

Reading and Writing

So Mom posted about Brendan's reading level, and I just wanted to share mine too.  My range is 3.9-5.9...which means I'm reading somewhere between the end of 3rd grade to the end of 5th grade.  That's pretty good, right?

Also, just like Brendan, I have a pen pal...and can you guess who it is?  It's Tristan!!!!

And this is the letter I wrote to Tristan in January.

The Lion King

Mom and Dad took us to see the Lion King in San Francisco and I loved it.  The costumes are pretty cool and the singing was awesome.  We had a great time....but it was soooo late at night.  And we were super tired on the long drive home.

That's the theater behind me.

Checking out the playbill.

New Orleans for Xmas

We flew a direct flight to MSY from SFO.  It was only 4 hours, not the 7 plus hours it usually takes us when we have to make a connection.  Much nicer and easier!  Too bad it costs money to watch TV on lame-o United.  So, of course, we didn't watch....boo.

Driving around, and we see this street!

Brendan and I are ready to work.  We've got LSU t-shirts and CD name tags and even caps!!

One of the first things we did was head to the Roosevelt Hotel for Teddy Bear Tea.
It's a pretty big production.  Santa and Mrs Claus came as well.  It was pretty cool, and the food
was pretty good too.

Mrs Claus

Snow Queen?

We took a family picture with Santa.

At Auntie Helen's house.  The Tsang cousins playing video games.....

Enjoying beignets and hot cocoa!  It's freezing outside!

"Working".  We filled sauce cups....Can you believe they go
through all these sauces and more each day?  Yikes!

Busy capping.

Cafe Hope.  Mom has always wanted to visit these buildings.  We pass by them all the time.
Recently, they opened a restaurant in one of the buildings.  I hope the place will do well.  They
take at-risk teens and teach them all aspects of running a restaurant.  Pretty cool, huh?

My pulled pork sandwich was pretty good...though, a bit too salty.
But, the teens cook the food, so it's still good.

In front of one of the buildings.

Crazy posing...

Much better.

Went to another restaurant nearby...Restaurant de Famille.  It was pretty good too,
and overlooking the swamps!

Running along the Riverwalk

At church

Eating a fancy dinner to celebrate Auntie CC's "32nd" birthday!

The zoo....that pelican is scary and bigger than me!

Time for hot pot

And more beignets....

Yum.

We couldn't stay up for the fireworks on New Year's Eve in New Orleans...so we had some fireworks of our own.

Christmas!!! Thanks Santa!

Finally, Christmas Day arrives!  And we get to open presents!!!  Did Santa come thru?  Yes!  I got the Night Vision Spy Scope and the Microscope.  He did it!  How does he do that?
