Kayak Camp

Took a kayak camp this week up near Paw Paw and Gung Gung's house.  I had lots of fun, and got very wet.  One time, a passing boat knocked me out of my kayak...and another time, we did it on purpose so we could learn how to get back in.  Oh, and I also jumped off the pier....:)  Good times.  I worked hard and learned a lot about kayaking.  :)

Guess I was one of the smaller kids in the group....

But still chatted it up and had lots of laughs with new friends.

I caught Paw Paw "spying" on me!

Packing my lunch back into the kayak.

Dragging the kayak back into the water

I'm soaking wet and still having fun.

Straddling the kayak to get on.

Here I go!

This kayak is just my size!

I see you Paw Paw!

Mom's French Chocolate class

Mom took a chocolate dessert making class with Auntie CC when we were in Paris.  I ate almost the entire box of chocolate macaroons that she made there.

Mom made chocolate souffle (which she ate at the end of class, boo!), chocolate macaroons, and chocolate millefeuille.  It was really good chocolate.

Eating a macaroon.  Yum!

Dance Recital

We had our end of season dance recital and as usual, I performed in all 3 shows.  We had two numbers per show.  My costume changes were nice and easy, so thankfully, it wasn't so bad.  But it was a long day.  More than 8 hours we were at the theater!

I was very happy this year because Paw Paw and Gung Gung came to watch me perform!  And my brother and I got "High Gold"!!!!

Summer's on!

I'm in my second week of camps at the nearby science center.  The first week I took bike camp and that was crazy fun, but I came home exhausted and super sweaty.  Over 5 days, I rode about 25 miles.  We went all over, and rode on trails there were outside of the park.  I was quite a happy but tired camper.  Sorry for the bad pictures, Mom's usually not around when we are doing the cool stuff.

My bike is one of the smallest....hmm..time to get a bigger bike, huh?

There I am.  In the middle, just to the left of the big tree....last climb up the hill.

This week, I'm doing a water camp, which is just okay.  It's better because I'm not as exhausted (we barely "hike" anywhere), but the subject is, well, kinda boring.  Well, we do get the play with water, so it's not so bad.  :)

Silicon Valley Kids Triathlon - DONE!

My brother and I competed in the Silicon Valley Kids Triathlon this weekend.  It was so much fun, but very challenging.  4 laps (100 yards) was kind of hard.  I'm 7 now, so I was put in the 7-8 year old division.  C'mon, I just turned 7!  For some reason, the 6 and unders do 1 lap, but the 7s do 4 laps of swimming.  What?  Anyhow, I was able to use a kickboard and I did complete my 4 laps.  Pretty good, eh?

Here we are watching the bigger kids go first....

Getting my body markings.  Heat 17.  #881.

Getting pinned

My bike

Transition area all set up.  #881 is ready to race!

Bye Mom and Dad.  7 and ups don't get a parent to go with them.
I had to do it all by myself.

Chatting it up with a new friend.

Swimming done.

Running barefoot in the parking lot?

Mom couldn't go in, so she's really really far.  I had to dry myself, put shoes, socks on, shirt on, and
helmet too.  Off to bike 2 miles.

Dropped off my bike and ready to get my laps done.

Sweet!!!!
My time was 28 minutes and 53 seconds!  Woot Woot!

All done and so happy about it.

My friend Kaela did it too!
