Snowboarder

Last week was ski week, so of course, we went to Tahoe.  Mom rented a house in Tahoe City.  The house was nice and near all the resorts.  We went to all 3.  Squaw, Alpine Meadows and Homewood.

Catching up on our video games

Okay...now what do I do?

A little too much toe edge, you say?

I think I can do heel edge...

Wait.  I fell off the lift.  I don't want to get off.

Why are we at the top?

Sliding down.

At least, I can still smile.

Enjoying hot chocolate and warm cookies!

Beach time!

Alpine Meadows.

Homewood.  I'm warming up for my lesson.  We could only sign up for an all day lesson....at first, I didn't want to stay all day, so Mom and Dad said they'd pick me up after lunch.  But...when they came, I told them I was going to stick with the lesson.  It was awesome.  I was getting the hang of making turns and I wanted to keep going!

Headed over to the bigger (slightly) runs.

We have to use a tow what?

Tow rope.  I get it.  Most of the time.

I had a great time snowboarding.  I like it just slightly more than skiing now.

Nuvo 2014

I had a pretty good weekend at Nuvo.  Friday night was our tap routine.  It was awesome and we get High Gold.  We also placed 1st for Tap Line, and won Best Nu Group (Nu doesn't mean new).

I was chosen by my teacher to pick up the awards...Here I am getting the High Gold tags.

Then yay, we got First Place overall for our category!

Best "Nu" Group!

Then Saturday, I had to be there at 7:30am to start classes...and I danced until 1pm.  Did I mention that I got to skip Chinese school?  Yeah!  Mom and Dad and B picked me up and we went to each shanghai dumplings.  We had a couple hours before Hip Hop, so we went to Dad's office to play ping pong and computer games.  :)  Then I got dressed for hip hop.

Ha ha.  Mom calls these pants "lai see foo".  Here, I have them hiked up...lol!

Okay, this is what I am supposed to look like...lai see foo and all.

Mom did my hair...with a product called Gorilla Snot.  It actually works quite well, despite the disgusting name.

Saturday, we also had Breakout Artist Scholarship auditions.  It was actually the 2nd class of the day.  We learn a routine in 45 minutes and then perform it for the judges.  I got chosen!  I was actually a runner up...there are only about 10 winners per age group.  Mom always tells me...if I don't remember the steps, no worries, just do something...anything.  Just keep dancing.  And that's what I did.  Plus, Mom promised that if I got the scholarship to go to the workshops in NY...she would take me!!!  In this photo, I'm on the far left, under that guy with his arms up....

On Sunday, after classes, there's a finale show.  The kids that we chosen have their names announced as they dance down the center aisle. It's pretty nerve wracking...but I do what I can.

Here I go.....

After the show is over, the team takes a group picture.  I'm chatting with the owner/director.

The team is pretty big!

Our final standings for this competition...
Marching On (Tap All Stars)
Best Nu Group (Mini)
1st Place Overall (Mini Extended Line)
High Gold

Fame Game (Hip Hop)
3rd Place Overall (Teen Production)

Yolympics?

Heard of the Yolympics?  Yeah, neither did we till the other night.  We went to get my haircut after dinner.  Yeah, it's not normal, but I had competition the next night, so I needed to get it done.  We decided to go to Yogurtland afterwards, it's right across the parking lot.  And as we approached the store, a YL worker came out and asked us if we wanted free yogurt.  Why, yes.  Free.  Of course.  What's the catch?  Well, we got 16 ounces of one flavor of yogurt and then 6 minutes to eat as much as we can.  Luckily, it was the 4 of us...and one other lady.  She didn't stand a chance against Dad.  Have you seen him eat?  Yup, Dad won and we took all our yogurt home and put it in the freezer.  And they also gave us coupons...3 oz free and Dad got 10 oz free.  I think we're set for a while.

Fold laundry?

I finally learned how to fold laundry...and will do it...for some a small fee.
