Meet our new family member...Nicholas! We debated changing his name, but so far, we're sticking with Nicholas. I really wanted Mochi, but eh...we'll see how it goes. We adopted him from Andy's Pet Shop in San Jose. They think he's about a year old, but maybe he's two. Not sure. He's pretty friendly and curious, but he's only been here 5 days, so he's still trying to figure us out.
Here's his litter box. Yes, he really does go in the litter box. He's actually quite good about it. Rabbit poop looks like black pebbles. They are hard and dry and not very stinky. I change the litter box every morning and Mom is proud of me for doing my job well. I also give him more hay in the morning.
Here you can see he has a two story condo...Dad built this great house.
Yup. Mom let him on the couch. He's always cleaning himself, so it's okay. But Mom did put a washable blanket down first, just in case. He gets to run around the living room with supervision and he enjoys it a lot. He doesn't like the hardwood floors because it's slippery, but he likes the carpet and often does his happy dance - these crazy "binkies" or jumps that are super fast. He eats 1/4 cup of pellets in the morning along with a fresh bowl of water (thanks to Brendan). He also has unlimited hay. And in the evening, we've been hand feeding him leafy greens, about a handful. He's gotten comfortable eating the greens from Mom's lap. But once he's done, he hops away.
Isn't he cute?
This was in the pet store. We were spending some time getting to know him and make sure he was going to like being with us.
He's enjoying the attention.
Cute!
