We flew a direct flight to MSY from SFO. It was only 4 hours, not the 7 plus hours it usually takes us when we have to make a connection. Much nicer and easier! Too bad it costs money to watch TV on lame-o United. So, of course, we didn't watch....boo.
Driving around, and we see this street!
Brendan and I are ready to work. We've got LSU t-shirts and CD name tags and even caps!!
One of the first things we did was head to the Roosevelt Hotel for Teddy Bear Tea.
It's a pretty big production. Santa and Mrs Claus came as well. It was pretty cool, and the food
was pretty good too.
Mrs Claus
Snow Queen?
We took a family picture with Santa.
At Auntie Helen's house. The Tsang cousins playing video games.....
Enjoying beignets and hot cocoa! It's freezing outside!
"Working". We filled sauce cups....Can you believe they go
through all these sauces and more each day? Yikes!
Busy capping.
Cafe Hope. Mom has always wanted to visit these buildings. We pass by them all the time.
Recently, they opened a restaurant in one of the buildings. I hope the place will do well. They
take at-risk teens and teach them all aspects of running a restaurant. Pretty cool, huh?
My pulled pork sandwich was pretty good...though, a bit too salty.
But, the teens cook the food, so it's still good.
In front of one of the buildings.
Crazy posing...
Much better.
Went to another restaurant nearby...Restaurant de Famille. It was pretty good too,
and overlooking the swamps!
Running along the Riverwalk
At church
Eating a fancy dinner to celebrate Auntie CC's "32nd" birthday!
The zoo....that pelican is scary and bigger than me!
Time for hot pot
And more beignets....
Yum.
