ONE AND A HALF!

Yes, I'm one and a half years old today. Whoopie! I went to check out a preschool with Mommy today, but we were kind of late, so we missed our appointment. Someone backed into my car in the parking lot and made us very late. Don't worry, Mommy and I weren't hurt, though Mommy was a little freaked out afterwards.

These days, I'm helping Daddy out during my bath by getting my hair wet with the shower hose. Plus, I can sometimes rub my belly with soap. I also help Mommy in the mornings and take my pjs off, though Mommy has to unzip them, and sometimes my hands and feet get stuck. It's been rather chilly lately, so Mommy bought me a hat. She had trouble finding one that fit and had to get me a boys hat instead of a baby hat. I have also learned how to climb up on chairs and how to open the closet door. I have to reach and reach on my tippy tippy toes, but I can do it! I can give you five, too! Mommy and Daddy taught me some chinese too. I know mouth, hand, foot, eyes, ears, nose, and head. Pretty good, huh? I have been trying to say "yes" or "yeah", and "trash" is another one. Today, I "talked" to Paw paw on the phone...I said "yeah" twice...much better than hearing my breath. :)

THANKSGIVING

Here I am enjoying my 2nd Thanksgiving dinner! I couldn't wait to chow down. Mommy made really yummy food. Turkey (juicy cuz she brined it), green beans, roasted butternut squash, mashed potatoes, and ritz cracker stuffing. Oh, and of course pumpkin pie! I had a whole slice. I just ate and ate and ate until my belly was bigger than ever. Now that's Thanksgiving! I'm so glad PawPaw and Gunggung came to visit too! Woohoo!

BUSY BUSY BUSY

Wowsers! Mommy is sure keeping me busy. Now, my schedule is M - Gymboree, T - Playgroup, W - Gymboree, Th - Library Storytime, F - Children's Discovery Museum. My weeks are packed with lots of fun stuff to do. Gymboree is loads more fun now. I realized that following the teacher's lead isn't so bad. And storytime is way cool too. I can sit still for it! Aren't you proud? The library is also a great place to practice removing books from shelves. I've learned to nod "yes" and sign "thank you" (at this time, by request only). I can also sign "eat". Eating is okay, I think playing with the food is much much better. Move the food from this bowl to that bowl, and then back again. I can drink from a cup and from a water bottle, though I usually end up soaking my t-shirt at some point. The excitement is too much for me. I sometimes let Mommy know when I'm going to make poopoo by sitting on my little potty, or signaling that I'd like to sit on the big potty. BUT, I'm still not ready to poop on either potty. Sometimes I tell Mommy afterwards too. Oh well, I'll figure it out soon.

AH, THE JOY OF KETCHUP!

Mommy introduced me to ketchup this week. Turns out, it makes everything taste really good. (almost everything) Yum!
I've also taken two naps this week without making a sound when Mommy puts me in my crib. But I usually end up chatting to myself a few minutes later. Hey, it's better than crying.

MAMA! DADA!

I think I finally have it down! Well, on occasion. Other "words" I say...juice, meow, woof, neigh (like a horse), maa (like a sheep)...My new sign is "please" (circle hand on chest). Paw paw went home this weekend and I was sad to see her leave. She spoils me and I like that! Mommy, Daddy and I recovered from our colds. I don't like having a stuffy nose. Tonight is the 7th night I went to bed without making a peep! Mommy is so proud of me. I still fight taking those naps, but by bedtime I am completely pooped. I'm pretty good at eating my oatmeal with a spoon these days too! Oh, and I've become quite the "Linus" with my blankie! I drag my blankie everywhere (almost!).
